Why role play?
It’s well known that play forms an important part of your child’s development but what is role play and what are its benefits?
Role play gives your child the opportunity to safely immerse themselves in the world around them. By learning through doing, young children channel their inquisitiveness, they problem solve and they grow.
Role play is a technique where your child can act out scenarios and situations. By giving your child the chance to “practice” life they develop problem solving skills and better understand things from different perspectives.
Role play allows your child to enhance their cognitive and communication skills. In a new setting children experiment with gestures and expressions. They form new friendships. Bonds strengthen between you and your child as you both play together. Role play improves confidence and in our play village there is no right or wrong way to play. As your child’s skills develop they will only want to continue exploring more.
By taking safe risks and experimenting with new experiences your child will develop skills that they will rely on throughout the rest of their live.
