Charity, Community Support & Donation Requests
Supporting our community in a way that makes a real difference
As a small independent business, Discovery Village receives a huge number of requests every year from schools, nurseries, charities, community groups, clubs and fundraising events asking us to donate tickets, gift vouchers and raffle prizes.
We completely understand why organisations ask. Fundraising is hard work and a donated prize can make a real difference to an event.
Unfortunately, we simply cannot support every request we receive.
While a gift voucher may seem like a relatively small donation, hundreds of requests throughout the year quickly add up to a significant cost for a small business like ours, as well as the administration involved in processing them.
For that reason, we have made the decision to focus the majority of our charitable giving in one place.
Our chosen charity: Meredith’s Mission
We are incredibly proud to support Meredith’s Mission.
Meredith’s Mission raises money to help create special experiences and lasting memories for families with children affected by cancer.
Rather than spreading our charitable budget across hundreds of individual raffle and prize requests, we believe concentrating our support allows us to make a more meaningful contribution to a cause that is very close to our hearts.
This is where the majority of Discovery Village’s charitable fundraising, donations, time and support will be directed.

What about schools, nurseries and local organisations?
Discovery Village is part of the local community and we particularly want to support organisations that have supported our small business too.
We therefore keep a very limited number of vouchers available for local schools, nurseries and community organisations where there is an existing connection with Discovery Village.
For example, priority may be given to:
- Local schools or nurseries whose children have visited Discovery Village
- Organisations that have booked school, nursery or group visits with us
- Schools or groups whose families regularly visit Discovery Village
- Local organisations that have previously supported, promoted or worked with us
- Causes directly benefiting children and families in our immediate local community
- Organisations that champion the work that we do and help us to spread the good word through their media channels, newsletters and social pages
- Exceptional circumstances where we feel Discovery Village can make a particularly meaningful contribution
Being a registered charity or raising money for a good cause does not automatically mean that we will be able to provide a donation.
We also don’t generally donate prizes to organisations outside our local area where there is no existing connection with Discovery Village.
Requesting a raffle prize or voucher
If you would like Discovery Village to consider supporting your fundraising, please complete the form below.
We ask a few questions about your organisation, what you are raising money for and your relationship with Discovery Village.
Please give us as much information as you can. We would much rather support organisations that have an established relationship with our small business than simply provide vouchers in response to speculative requests.
Because of the number of applications we receive, completing this form does not guarantee a donation.
We will review applications and will contact you if we are able to help. Unfortunately, we are not able to reply individually to unsuccessful applications.
If you don’t hear from us, please assume that we aren’t able to support your request on this occasion.
Thank you for understanding that, just like the organisations approaching us for support, Discovery Village also has to carefully decide where its limited resources can make the greatest difference.
Our principal charitable support will continue to go to Meredith’s Mission, helping create precious experiences and memories for families facing childhood cancer.
