Rules Of Play
Fun for everyone
Discovery Village is a fun and exciting indoor play area that everyone (even adults) can enjoy. All children using our role play village can put together our rules of play for safe and self-paced play. Whilst our fantastic village staff promote inclusivity, encourage sharing and guide our little visitors through fun and learning, we need your help to make Discovery Village the most welcoming place for children in Dorset.
Parents & Guardians MUST:
- Remain within Discovery Village at all times. Discovery Village does not accept responsibility for the supervision of children
- Accept full responsibility to supervise their children at all times
- Observe their child to ensure that they are capable of using the equipment safely
- Explain these rules of play to their children and monitor their behaviour
- Know where their child is and make sure their child knows where they are at all times
- Arrive and depart on time to allow for cleaning and resetting for the next play session
- Know their child’s capabilities and behaviour best and ensure an appropriate level of supervision to reflect this
Our team of friendly staff and performers are there to monitor the play areas and interact with children using Discovery Village. Our staff are not responsible for supervising children. This is the responsibility of parents/guardians.
General Rules Of Play
- Children must be supervised at all times
- Be aware that due to the nature of the role play village some toys may contain small parts never leave children under 36 months unattended
- Remove shoes before entering the role-play village. Socks must be worn at all times
- No running, jumping, climbing or rough play
- Do not climb on or damage furniture, props, toys or role play areas
- No fighting or bullying. Foul language or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated
- No food or drink is permitted within the play area
- Only food and drink purchased from Discovery Village may be consumed on the premises (with the exception of milk and baby food)
- Please report all accidents, incidents or damage to a member of staff immediately
- Smoking or vaping are not permitted inside Discovery Village
- Be respectful of others at all times, children explore at different paces
- Children and adults who are unwell should not visit Discovery Village
- Photography of your child for personal use is permitted. Please seek permission from other parents/guardians if photographing others
For the safety of all of our customers, management reserve the right to refuse entry or ask a family to leave, for inappropriate behaviour or none abidance of the rules above.
Management reserve the right to amend these rules at any time.
Discovery Village Ltd and its staff cannot accept any liability for loss, damage or theft of personal possessions.
Parents and guardians should note that whilst every consideration has been given to the safety of children using the play centre, Discovery Village Ltd. cannot be held responsible for accidents which occur as a result of children playing on the equipment.
For the safety and security of all our visitors, we have CCTV in operation in the centre.
